Last week, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare beds and cots have been spied by our customers and staff all across the UK, playing a prominent role in brand new medical drama, Maternal, the first episode of which aired on Monday 16th January 9pm.
Earlier this year, our North West Business Development Manager, Ollie Mitchell, was approached to see whether Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare could supply beds and mattresses for the six-part ITV series.
Delighted with the opportunity and brilliantly positioned to support through our Rental Solutions and vast portfolio of equipment, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare responded enthusiastically. An implementation plan was devised to deliver INNOV8 iQ beds, Inspiration Cots and a number of mattresses for rental into two locations, where they were subsequently utilised during 14 weeks of filming.
As part of our Rental Solutions, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare can respond quickly to meet anticipated demand, whether that may be a seasonal surge in the need for additional bed capacity or as in this case, supporting a cast and crew in creating an authentic medical setting to bring a film set to life. Flexible rental options for short or long-term requirements can be easily managed via renting for a day, block period or defined contract term, whilst local availability of products, stocked in the UK across multiple sites, presents quick installation opportunities.
The ITV drama, entitled ‘Maternal’ tells the stories of Maryam, a Paediatric Registrar, Catherine, a General and Trauma Surgeon, and Helen, a Registrar in Acute medicine, as they each attempt to balance their increasingly demanding jobs in post-pandemic frontline medicine with their lives as new mothers.(1)
Having already tuned into the first episode, we were proud to see our UK manufactured products being given such a lot of international airtime. We’re looking forward to more appearances in the spotlight in the coming episodes!
