Summary (Major Purpose of the Role):


The role will involve a specific focus on visual welding inspection to ensure the organisation’s products meet both internal and external standards, function effectively, and meet the customer’s requirements and expectations.


Main Activities/Responsibilities:


The Welding Inspector will be the key contact for Quality in the welding department who will carry out periodic assessments of welding quality at the point of production and collaborate with all stakeholders across Manufacturing; including Production, Engineering, Design, Purchasing, Environmental and Health and Safety to ensure processes are being followed as per our Quality Management System.


Duties include but are not limited to:


  • Welding Inspection
  • NCR progression and investigation
  • Problem solving
  • Rework approval/progression
  • Welder New Starter/Annual Assessments
  • CAPA Meetings & Continual Improvement Activities
  • Internal Audits

Competencies:


  • Quality Systems experience in a welding/manufacturing environment.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office 365.

Reporting Relationships and Supervision:


The employee will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and work closely with the following departments/personnel:


Quality Assurance Department, Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator, Production Manager and Leaders.


Education and Experience:


  • CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector Level 1 (desirable)
  • Minimum requirement of 5 GCSEs at grades C or above/A-Level or other equivalent
