Summary (Major Purpose of the Role):


As a purchasing administrator, you will be assisting in the day-to-day running of the purchasing department, ensuring excellent service is delivered to our external and internal stakeholders.


Main Activities/Responsibilities:


  • Providing support to the purchasing team
  • Supporting all departments with indirect purchasing including supplier identification
  • Raise and issue purchase orders
  • Maintaining and updating purchasing records and databases
  • Raising RFQs and negotiating prices
  • Checking order acknowledgments and reporting any delays
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time and to specification
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and order fulfilment
  • Support Goods Inwards and Purchase Ledger in the efficient resolution of queries
  • Ad-hoc projects agreed with the Purchasing Manager
  • Run various MRP purchasing reports, analyse and action as appropriate, communicating any changes where required

Education and Experience:


  • Knowledge and experience of working within a purchasing environment
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • English & Numeracy
  • Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Syspro & Sage systems is desirable
  • A great team player and enthusiasm for working in a high performing team
  • Adaptability/flexibility
