Summary (Major Purpose of the Role):
Specialised Orthotic Services manufactures a number of hybrid products aimed at individuals who have complex needs with regards to posture and mobility. We offer a bespoke service for those people, and everything is manufactured to order at our factory in Staffordshire using state of the art equipment.
We work with qualified and skilled clinicians who use specialised scanning equipment to assess size and posture once all parties have agreed on the product best to the patient’s needs.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
- To work within an allocated territory to attend pre-arrange diary appointments to demonstrate and assess the patient’s needs, advising on which products would be appropriate.
- To attend appointments to accurately cast and then scan patients using the appropriate manner for the circumstances, ensuring the patient (and any accompanying parties) are comfortable with the process.
- To assess clinical need in relation to the appropriate seating requirements of any person assessed for the provision of specialist seating.
- To be solely responsible for the supervision of areas directly under his/her control and expect to enhance, promote and support the company in maintaining and improving its reputation.
- To complete any necessary paperwork to prepare and organize for the order to be processed and supplied.
- To attend exhibitions, Demo days and demonstrate products as required.
- To ensure the Job is done to your requirements before you supply back out to the client.
- To accurately record your expenses and submit monthly
- To complete monthly vehicle checks
Competencies:
- Empathetic and understanding of the anatomical characteristics associated with the type of disabilities that will be encountered during the assessment of clinical needs.
- Able to use your own initiative and resolve issues and problems encountered when producing bespoke equipment and understanding company limitations.
- Comprehensive understanding of seating and therapy aids in general with respect to compatibility with the company’s range of products.
- Hold a full driving licence
Education and Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all possible disabilities encountered during the course of assessment for provision of specialist seating and therapy equipment.
- Strong understanding of the anatomical characteristics associated with the type of disabilities that will be encountered during the assessment of clinical needs.
