Drive Medical Acquires Dupont Medical, A Leading Manufacturer and Distributor in France


Drive Medical, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of durable medical products, announces that it has acquired Dupont Medical, one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of healthcare products in France.  The Company operates from a 175,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located in Frouard, France. 

Founded more than 150 years ago, Dupont Medical is one of the most recognized premier brands in the healthcare industry in France and is an industry leader in Europe, with a broad range of products marketed and distributed to approximately 2,000 customers throughout Europe.  The Company manufactures and distributes a full range of home healthcare products, including wheelchairs, homecare beds, patient lifts and technical aids, under the Mobily, Samery and Adage brands.  Dupont Medical also manufactures and distributes a broad range of diagnostic devices, emergency equipment and medical instruments for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals under the Colson and Healthy brands.

Over the past several years, the Company has launched a wide range of innovative products including comfort and positioning seatlift chairs.  The Company continually invests in research and development to bring new products and solutions to markets throughout Europe.

The New Ambiturn Transfer Aid assists with pivoting transfers between different seat surfaces with facility to transport users shorter distances.

It's features and benefits are -

• Requires user to pull on handle to stand up and to be weight bearing.

• Narrow, recessed front fits between wheelchair wheels and around toilet for perfect positioning.

• Low profile base facilitates user feet placement.

• Substantial base area provides stability, with rear bar also allowing carer to counterbalance.

• Handle has multiple gripping points for varying carer/user support requirements and is angled to enable “nose-over-toe” standing movement.

• Opening on central handle bar allows quick fitting of optional support belts.

• 4 front and rear castors combined with 2 x 13cm (5”) central wheels ensure effortless manoeuvring even with heavier users.

• Foot-operated brakes on centre wheels provide stability during standing/sitting movement.

• Padded lower leg supports can be adjusted (toolfree) in width, angle and height to suit user comfort.

• Easily dismantled/reassembled without tools for transportation and storage.
